From music classes for preschoolers in Airdrie, AB, to toddler-friendly methodology for piano teachers, this is where I share my joy of music with the world—and introduce the littlest loves of our lives to music through play and fun.

Leaving a legacy of music, joy, and love

My story starts when I was as little as the kids I teach: What started as jam sessions with my grandparents in their living room, tambourine in hand, led me to the trumpet, jazz band, and two degrees in music and education. Because, as much as music, I loved my teachers and decided to become one myself.

So, after graduating with my double-major, I became an elementary school music teacher in Calgary, AB, responsible for 750+ students, from K–6. Eight years and two littles of my own later, I left the school system to start my own private studio in 2015, specializing in music classes for preschoolers.

Within a few short years, the preschoolers I taught aged out of my music classes but didn’t want to stop learning with me. So, I began teaching them piano and, with those lessons, developed an original methodology, Rainbowkeys, to make learning piano more fun for littles (and their teachers).

Today, my Rainbowkeys books, lessons, and activities are available online to teachers (and parents!) across Canada, while Music with Miss Alison is free for everyone on YouTube, and my Joymakers music classes in Airdrie, AB are booked out year after year.

Because music really is more joyful when shared.
